Journal of Interdisciplinary Qur'anic Studies

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Qur’anic Studies (JIQS) is a bilingual, double‑blind peer‑reviewed academic journal established in June 2022. JIQS promotes interdisciplinary research on the Qur’an by welcoming diverse methodological and theoretical approaches from across the humanities and sciences.

We invite original research and review articles that explore Qur’anic studies in relation to other disciplines, including but not limited to: Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Linguistics, Literature, Management, Economics, Law, Politics, History, Ethics, Philosophy, Archaeology, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Meteorology, Medicine, Engineering, and Computer Science.

The journal places special emphasis on applications of artificial intelligence to Qur’anic studies, particularly work in Computational Qur’an Mining.

JIQS adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and upholds high ethical standards in all editorial and publishing practices. The journal is Open Access: full texts of articles are freely available and may be reused under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
